Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using our markdown conversion platform. By using the service, you agree to these guidelines.

Last Updated: June 26, 2026

Governing Agreement & Fair Use

This is a legal contract between you and Peak Collective LLC. We provide tools for document conversion. We enforce strict fair-use limits on our free tiers (such as a 3-conversion lifetime IP limit for guests) and prohibit the use of automated scrapers, VPN-rotated IP cycles, or malware-designed inputs on our HTML compiler.

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to MD to PDF ("Service"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Peak Collective LLC dba MD to PDF, a company organized under the laws of the State of Missouri, United States ("Company", "we", "us", or "our").

By visiting our website at getmd2pdf.com, creating an account, subscribing to any paid plan, or accessing our APIs, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must immediately cease using the Service.

2. Description of Service

MD to PDF provides users with a layout-perfect Markdown-to-PDF compilation engine.

We offer a web interface for editing, stylesheet selection, and file generation, as well as programmatic API access. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, including layout templates, pricing tier limits, and API specs, without prior notice.

3. User Accounts & API Keys

To access advanced features (such as API keys, history saving, custom CSS layouts, and unwatermarked sheets), you must register for an account via Clerk.

  • You are responsible for keeping your credentials and API keys confidential.
  • Any action performed through your account or using your API keys is deemed to be authorized by you.
  • You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access or compromise of your credentials or developer keys.

4. Subscription Billing & Cancellations

Paid subscriptions (Starter, Pro, Team tiers) are managed through Stripe and billed in advance on a recurring monthly or yearly cycle.

  • Cancellations: You can cancel your subscription at any time through the customer billing portal in your settings. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing cycle.
  • Upgrades and Downgrades: If you upgrade or downgrade, the change will be processed immediately by Stripe, and any billing difference will be calculated as a prorated credit applied to your next statement.
  • Refunds: We provide refunds on a case-by-case basis (generally within 14 days of purchase if no significant plan usage has occurred). To request a refund, contact us at [email protected].

5. Intellectual Property & Content Ownership

Your rights to your materials are fully preserved:

  • Your Content: You retain complete ownership of all Markdown text, assets, stylesheets, and compiled PDFs you process through the Service. We claim no ownership over your inputs or outputs.
  • Our License to Process: You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to parse, compile, render, and temporarily host your markdown files and generated PDFs solely to perform the document conversion.
  • Platform Intellectual Property: All software, website code, themes, templates, layout styling templates, and branding elements are the exclusive property of Peak Collective LLC and are protected by US copyright and trademark laws.

6. Prohibited Conduct & Abuse

To ensure service stability for all developers, you agree not to:

  • Circumvent free limits (e.g., using residential proxies, VPNs, or script headers to bypass the Guest 3-conversion IP limitation).
  • Attempt to exploit the PDF rendering sandbox (e.g., injecting malicious Javascript, initiating Server-Side Request Forgery via local image queries, or attempting local directory inclusions via markdown configurations).
  • Use automated loops or scrapers to invoke conversion endpoints at rates exceeding your subscription limits.
  • Submit content that is illegal, defamatory, or violates any third-party intellectual property rights.

Enforcement: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts, revoke API keys, or ban IP subnets immediately if we detect abuse or violations of these guidelines, without refund.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. PEAK COLLECTIVE LLC EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, MERCHANTABILITY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • The layout engine will render CSS template modifications flawlessly on all paper formats.
  • The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of runtime exceptions.
  • PDF files stored on our server disk will be permanently recoverable (users must download and maintain backups of their compiled PDFs).

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL PEAK COLLECTIVE LLC, ITS MEMBERS, AGENTS, OR EMPLOYEES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF REVENUE, OR DATA LOSS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS UNDER THIS AGREEMENT IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US DURING THE THREE (3) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

9. Governing Law

These Terms of Service and any dispute arising from your use of the Service shall be governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any legal action or proceeding relating to your access to, or use of, the Service must be instituted in the state or federal courts located in Missouri.
